About Us

Pappy Boyington Veterans Museum and Themuseums.us is dedicated to preserving local aviation history and the efforts of veterans and aviators who have sacrificed and contributed to preserving the integrity and peace to which the United States has been graced.

YOUR FAMILY HISTORY WANTED

We are looking for military scrapbooks and stories of local veterans.

Our Goal

Our goal is to be similar to the Richard Bong Veterans Historical Center which educates about 13,000 school children and other visitors a year and has proven to be a cultural and educational resources to that region.

Pappy Boyington Veterans Museum could have a similar facility right here at Coeur d’Alene Airport (COE)-Pappy Boyington Field directly across the street from the airport and the 8 ft. Bronze statue of Pappy Boyington.

With the 600,000 yearly visitors to the Silverwood Theme park and the projected 75,000 visitors to the Farragut State Park Museum, the Pappy Boyington Veterans Museum is within 20 minutes of these two visitor magnets.

This would be a terrific naming opportunity for a family or corporation that wants to have their name affiliated with one of America’s most famous names in aviation…Pappy Boyington!

KOOTENAI COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY recognizes all the historical museums and Genealogical Society in old Kootenai County (not supported financially by the Kootenai County Government) and other regions outside of Kootenai County.

This site is dedicated to the history of the CAROUSEL AND PLAYLAND PIER from 1941 until its return in 2011. Mr. W Earl Somers president and manager of the, CDA Lakeside Development company started to build the pier in the city park in about 1940.

We are still Pappy Boyington Field Museum Inc a non profit 501(c)(3) and we are not associated with any government entity. Pappy Boyington Field Museum Inc will use the name " Pappy Boyington Veterans Museum" to clarify our mission.
